Pat Fitzgibbons was a standout lineman on a North Attleboro team many observers rank as the best in the school's history - the 1973 Red Rocketeers.
Described by Coach Ray Beaupre as "a fierce competitor- one of the most determined athletes I've ever coached", Pat was a starter as a 150-pound linebacker in his junior year. A year later, he weighed in at 205 pounds. and was a relentless presence as a tackle.
Pat was a Rocketeer tricaptain as a senior, teaming with two other Hall of Famers, Jack Rioux and Ronnie Deschenes.
Nor did his excellence on the gridiron become a memory upon his graduation in 1974. Pat went on to Boston University and carved out a distinguished career as a member of the Terrier varsity, winning the coveted Harry Aggannis Trophy as B.U. 's outstanding student athlete.
In a program well known for producing outstanding lineman, Pat Fitzgibbons shines above most of the rest, and is emminently qualified for a niche in the Greater Attleboro Football Hall of Fame.
