Dale Galasso's performance as a backfield standout for the Red Rocketeers was in the best tradition of his family: two of his uncles, Ralph and Harold 'Midge' Hall, were North High stars in the Thirties and Forties, and both preceeded Dale into the Greater Attleboro Hall of Fame. Exceptional versatile, Dale teamed with Johnny Perkoski to give North one of the best backfield tandems in the schools history. A strong contributor as a junior, Dale hit full stride in his senior year when he passed, kicked, ran and played defense as well as anyone in Southeastern Massachusetts. Against Durfee, for example, he threw •our touchdown passes to lead North to a 48-6 win - the worst beating ever inflicted on a team coached by Luke Urban. Against Coyle he carried the ball 15 times for 110 yards and threw a touchdown pass to end Jeff Taylor. Against Dartmouth, he intercepted two passes and completed the pass that set up the game's only touchdown. Even in defeat against Attleboro, he was outstanding, throwing a touchdown pass to Perkoski for the only North score of the day. North has had an exceptional fleet of halfbacks over the years, but none put together a finer season than the one Dale Galasso enjoyed in 1959.
