Bob Holden, a 6'4" state hurdles champion, was a true impact player for Attleboro High in 1974 and '75. As an outstanding punter, defensive back, and pass receiver, Bob could control a game almost singlehandedly. In a 1974 AHS win over Dartmouth, he caught a 36-yard touchdown pass, raced 63 yards with an interception for another touchdown, and set up a third score with a 33-yard reception . As a senior co-captain in '15, Bob caught the game-winning touchdown pass in a 14-8 win over highly regarded Taunton . He was even more brilliant in a 24-19 victory over Durfee, intercepting two passes and snaring two more for touchdowns, including the game winner in the final seconds of the game. A truly worthy entrant into the Hall of Fame, Bob was an All Conference and All State selection in 1975 before continuing his gridiron career at URI.
