Following in his father's footsteps 35 years later in 1973, Mike Kulaga was selected as the best end in Bristol County. The Taunton Gazette described Kulaga as ''the best end to hit Southeastern Massachusetts in many seasons. At 6'2", his height is of great value, but so are his other assets, such as speed, sure hands and the ability to get open". The versatile Kulaga was an outstanding two-way performer who could change the outcome of the game whenever he touched the ball. Against Somerset Mike had frve receptions for 188 yards and 2 TO's, returned punts and kickoffs, averaged 47.5 yards on four punts, scored another TD as the backup quarterback and intercepted two passes from his free safety spot. Mike ended his outstanding career on Thanksgiving Day 1973 with two touchdown receptions, brilliant clutch punting and selection as the Balfour M.V.P. winner.
