Tom Hardt's performance from his end position was in the best tradition of AHS and his family. In 1968 as a junior he was selected to the All Sun District Team at three positions, offensive end, defensive end and the team's punter.
Again as a senior, Tom gained All Bristol County honors for his durable and versatile play. At 6'3", 200 lbs., Tom finished the 1969 season with an average of 40 yards per punt. This would tie him with his older brother (and Hall of Farner) David's senior year. In addition to his great ability in the punting department, Hardt was a dependable receiver for coach Jim Cassidy's Bombardiers. He used his height to advantage in making clutch catches. In his last game against NAHS, Gary Livesey lofted a 25-yard pass to Tom in the end zone which proved to be the winning margin. Hardt in a. 8-7 victory over Stang, made one of the most important catches of his career as he leaped to pull down a Livesey pass over the middle, surrounded by three Stang defenders, for the winning conversion. Against Taunton, Tom was devastating from his defensive end position in completely mauling the Tigers' 34-6.
After a brilliant career it is only fitting the Attleboro Area Hall of Fall welcomes Tom Hardt.
