Versatility-Determination-Leadership: These qualities describe Bishop Feehan's ultimate team player, Bob L'Homme. As a junior, the rock solid offensive guard played along side Hall of Famers Peter Grundy, Steve McNally, and Frank Luongo in creating explosive holes for backfield Hall of Famers, Terry Buckley and Henry McDeed to ramble through. In his quiet way, he made others around him better ball players. While his senior year was short on victories, it was long on heart and desire. As the appointed captain of a young, inexperienced team, Bob almost singlehandedly battled opponents on each side of the ball. On offense, he played virtually every position except quarterback and wide receiver, and on defense, Bob played on the defensive line, at linebacker, and in the secondary. There have been few individuals as versatile as Bob L'Homme in trying to secure victory for the Shamrocks. Better known today for his huge success as the Feehan Cross Country and Track Coach, Bob brings the same intangibles as a football player to the athletes he coaches. In the last ten years, his teams have won numerous class, conference, and relay championships in Track and he is the driving force behind the two time defending state champion cross country team.
