For three years, Bombardier Dave Menard proved to be one of the most dominate football players to ever wear the Blue and White. A powerful 6'2", 210 lb. fullback and linebacker, Menard combined speed, power, grace and toughness to dominate opponents both offensively and defensively. As a junior fullback, Dave rushed for 806 yards and nine TD's, caught three passes for 98 yards, had one interception and 73 tackles.
As a senior, Attleboro built its offense around the brilliant co-captain and he responded with 1660 rushing yards, averageing 8.6 yards per carry and 26 touchdowns. He was also Attleboro's leading receiver with 12 catches for 196 yards and two more touchdowns. He finished with 184 points to lead the Eastern Mass in scoring. Menard was also a powerful defensive force from his linebacker spot making 87 tackles (47 unassisted), had two sacks and recovered two fumbles.
In addition to his All EAC and All Sun District selections, Dave was a 1993 Boston Globe and Boston Herald All Scholastic, Eastern Mass Shriners Game selection, Balfour Defensive MVP, and 1993 Bombardier team MVP.
Following an outstanding college career at Div 2 powerhouse New Haven, Dave signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Browns. Although he was released late in the Browns training camp, Dave will play in Europe this spring and expects to return to the NFL in the fall.
