Soft hands with speed to bum characterize Dan Wheeler, one of the finest pass receivers to ever wear the Green and Gold of Bishop Feehan. In running precise patterns, he combined with QB Steve Judge to catch 27 passes 457 yards and nine TD's in his senior year. His ability to be the "Go To Guy" in Feehan's passing game perfectly complemented the explosive running attack on a team that won the Division II Southeastern MA Conference Championship. Among the many memorable performances of that season was three TD effort against Wareham, catching a TD and two point conversion as well as making an interception in a hard fought 14-14 tie vs Attleboro, and catching the winning TD pass in an opening game victory over North Attleboro. A versatile athlete, Wheeler was a pure sprinter in Track who could run any race from the 100 to the 400. He held the school record in the latter for several years and was also a 20 foot long jumper. His accomplishments in both Football and Track led to his selection as an All Conference and All Sun Chronicle All Star in each sport. However, it is the quiet work ethic, great dedication, and genuine humility which his team mates and coaches will remember most about Dan "Wheels" Wheeler.
