Jeff Lambert was a two year starter for North in the late fifties. The 6'1" 190 pound Lambert saw action at tackle, end, and linebacker for the '58' and '59' Red Rocketeers. His size and athletic ability made him a prime target in North's passing attack. While his blocking ability allowed him to open numerous holes for Hall of Fame classmates John Perkoski and Dale Galasso.
In 1958 Jeff had one of his best games against Mansfield. In a stunning 12-6 upset of the Green Hornets Lambert had an outstanding game on defense. With the game tied late in the third quarter Jeff knocked down a fourth down pass with Mansfield knocking on the door threatening to take the lead. That same year Jeff had a key pass interception on Turkey Day to halt an Attleboro drive.
During the 1959 season Lambert's fine two-way play helped North to five straight victories. In a thrilling 8-6 win over Milford, Lambert intercepted a desperation pass on the final play of the game to preserve the North victory.
Because of his excellence on the football field and in the classroom Lambert was selected to the state All-Scholastic Team. After graduation he attended Harvard University where he played football for four years.
