Ted Barrett, who joins the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, is arguably the greatest running back in Rocketeer history. In a glittering, three-year career, he scored 206 points. ncluding 162 in his senior year. when he led the state. He also set the school rushing record when. as a senior. he chalked up 1.457 yards on 184 carries. The fleet youngster, who averaged 26 yards per touchdown run . compiled 2.270 yards in 3367 carries during his career. Enroute to All State. All Hockomock League, and All Sun-Chronicle honors as a senior. he scored both of his team's touchdowns against Attleboro and received the L.G. Balfour Trophy as the game's outstanding back. Ted went on to a starting role with the University of Massachusetts Redmen before his career was cut short by physical problems.
