In 1938, "Ziggy" Kulaga, now deceased, capped an outstanding career when he combined with Hall of Farner "Red" Madden to form one of Attleboro's finest pair of pass catching ends. The tall receiver had great hands, but was at his most exciting best in the open field after making the catch. The Bombardiers' leading scorer often dazzled opponents with his patented end-around play that left tacklers scattered around the field. In a big 7-6 victory over Coyle, "Ziggy" scored Attleboro's lone TD on a spectacular hip-weaving, straight-arming, 48 yard end-around play. Kulaga's great athletic ability did not go unrecognized by opposing coaches who selected "Ziggy" as their First Team All-Bristol County end.
